President Obama, is on pace to just about equal Clinton in vacation days. The President to take the fewest days would be one-term President Jimmy Carter. The three highest (from 3rd to first): Reagan (2 term Republican), George H.W. Bush (1 term Republican), and George W. Bush (2 term Republican). Not only is the accusation of this President taking an unprecedented amount of vacation time false; it is not even in the ballpark of the truth.
This of course all being said: The President of the United States is never really completely away from work. The Oval Office travels with the President. Things can get accomplished. Both FDR and Ronald Reagan were able to come up with policy proposals while on vacation. Therefore, this post is not intended to be a criticism of any of these Presidents' vacations. This post is intended solely as a criticism of the false information going around the internet.
