A partisan (D) poll out of Illinois has Quinn down by only 1%, but has over 20% undecided. That race moves a little closer, but it is still a projected GOP pick-up by over 6%. We got a poll out of Iowa by Rasmussen today showing a tied race. This bumped off a previous R +1 poll by Rasmussen, so the change was only R +.2. The race is well within the margin of error and remains a possible GOP pickup giving the red team a 51 seat majority.
As things sit today, the Senate would be split 50-50. Therefore, the Vice President and President of the Senate, Joe Biden, would break all ties. "All ties" include ties in party leadership and the Senate rules as well as legislation and judicial and cabinet appointments. The Democrats would technically have a 51-50 majority in a 50-50 Senate.
